Abstract
1330978 Rolling mills NIPPON KOKAN KK 18 Nov 1971 [18 Nov 1970 23 Dec 1970] 53709/71 Heading B3M A cold strip or sheet rolling mill includes a pair of parallel rolls 42 which are rotated and simultaneously reciprocated axially during rolling. The rolls may be reciprocated in opposite directions by rods 44, a link 45 and a cylinder 55. Alternatively, they may move in the same direction, or one of them may be held stationary. The mill can be used in co-operation with an edging mill (Fig. 3) as described in Specification 1,200,562, in which a pair of edging rolls 14 are axially reciprocated during rolling of a strip 12. The finish rolled strip is suitable for forming into longitudinally welded tubing.
