Abstract
The mixt. contains 10-60% wt. hard mineral filler based o- the resin, which is polyethylene, grafted polyethylene, PVC, polyamide, polyester, chlorinated polyether, or an epoxide resin. The hard mineral filler is silica, carborundum, emery, corundum, a metal carbide, iron oxide, aluminium silicate spinel, or zircon. The resin and filler have a particle size of 50-80 mu. The surface to be coated is heated to a temp. sufficient to melt the resin. The pdt. bonds firmly to substrates, and resins bonded permanently. The coatings give excellent protection under corrosive conditions, and have an excellent resistance to impacts and ageing.
