Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a polyolefin-metal laminate having excellent adhesive strength, corrosion resistance and warm water resistance, by coating a metal surface preheated at a specific temperature in advance with a specific epoxy resin composition and immediately thereafter applying a coating of polyolefin thereon.
CONSTITUTION: A metal surface (e.g. Al or iron) preheated at a temperature of 150W250°C in advance is coated with an epoxy resin composition comprising a mixture of a bisphenol A epoxy resin with an epoxy equivalent of 170W280, a modified polycyclic amine curing agent with an amine value of 200W500 (e.g. the compound of the formula), and, if necessary, 0.5W5pts.wt. (based on 100pts.wt. components A and B) fine silica powder having an average primary particle diameter of 50mμ or less, and thereafter a coating of polyolefin (e.g. PE or PP) is applied thereon by extrusion or fluidization dipping before the metal surface temperature falls to 140°C or lower. Thus the titled polyolefin-metal laminate is obtained.
