Abstract

Steel sheet with high corrosion resistance and excellent drawability is obtained by adhering to the following limits:- a) 0.019% C; 0.02-0.10% S; 0.08% Cu and S/P >2; b) 0.039% C; 0.02-0.10% S; Cu/(P+S) >3 and 8 x 10-3 > Cx(Cu-0.04) >3 x 10-4; c) 0.039% C, 0.02% S, 0.10-0.50% Cu, Cu/C >5, Cu/(P+S) >3 and 1 x 10-2 >Cx(Cu-0.04) >3 x 10-4. Reduction in harmful oxide inclusions increases resistance to premature cracking.
