Abstract
Polyene cpds with mol wt 150-20,000 and -ene and -ine-functionality 2 are produced by (a) reacting organic epoxide with at least 2 groups with hydrazine, primary or secondary amine or salt of tertiary amine, organic (thio)alcohol or organic acid, which are polymerisable and contain at least one ethylenic or acetylenic group; or (b) reacting polymersable epoxide with at least one ethylenic or acetylenic group with hydrazine or an organic cpd. having at least 2 radical containing H, which can react with epoxy group of epoxide and corresponds to formula -NH-, triple bond N+-H, -OH, double bond B-H, -SH or double bond PH. These cpds can be used for bonding metals etc and in making printing plates. They cure rapidly between room temp and 150 degrees C and have satisfactory flexibility without need for additives. Solid polythioethers can be produced by radical-initiated reaction of such liquid polyene cpds with polythiol (mixture).
