Abstract
Cyanuric acid is prepared by mixing urea and methoxyethoxyisopropanol in the ratio of more than one mole urea per mole methoxyethoxyisopropanol at between 150 DEG and 250 DEG C. 1:1 molar proportions of urea and alcohol form the carbamate, and any urea in excess is converted in the carbamate reaction medium to cyanuric acid. Cyanuric acid may be recovered by filtration and may be further purified by recrystallization. Specification 905,013 and U.S.A. Specification 2,986,452 are referred to.
