Abstract

1,165,310. Propanediol ethers. ARZNEIMITTELWERK DRESDEN VEB. 13 Sept., 1968, No. 43668/68. Heading C2C. Compounds of the general formula (R = saturated or unsaturated aliphatic radical, aralkyl radical, unsubstituted or substituted aromatic radical) and their acid addition salts are prepared by (a) reducing the corresponding nitro compounds or (b) reacting 5- aminoisoindoline with a compound of the formula optionally followed in either case by salt formation. The compounds of the invention are anticonvulsants and some of them are tranquilizers.
