1345925 Diacetone 3-alkoxypropionamide derivatives LUBRIZOL CORP 16 Sept 1971 [28 Sept 1970 10 March 1971] 43289/71 Heading C2C [Also in Division C3] Novel compounds of the formula wherein Y is or a polyamide radical; Z is OR<SP>8</SP>, SR<SP>8</SP> or and each of R<SP>1</SP> to R<SP>5</SP>, R<SP>7</SP>, R<SP>9</SP> and R<SP>11</SP> is hydrogen or a substituted or unsubstituted hydrocarbon radical; R<SP>6</SP> is hydrogen, halogen, alkyl or substituted alkyl; R<SP>8</SP> is substituted or unsubstituted hydrocarbon radical; R<SP>10</SP> is a divalent substituted or unsubstituted hydrocarbon radical and n is an integer from 1 to 100, are prepared by reacting a compound of the formula with a compound of the formula in a molar ratio of from 1 : 1 to 5 : 1 at a temperature of from 25‹ to 150‹ C. The reactants are suitably a diacetone 3-(aloxy)(thio) or amino)propionamide and an alkylene polyamine. The novel compounds may be used as epoxy curing agents.
