Abstract
Electric cables outer conductor or sheath comprises a tape wound with overlap and with a external steel sheet face and an inner face of a metal which conducts well. The two faces are connected by a layer of heat-sealable pref. vinyl/vinylidene chloride copolymer. A second heat-sealable layer is applied all over the external face. The steel sheet is larger than the other one, leaving uncovered the first heat-sealable layer on a marginal zone which width equals the overlap width of the 2 marginal zones. Preferably, an adhesive is used, and is a high density copolymer of acrylic acid and ethylene.
