Abstract

Uranium is recovered during the prodn. of phosphoric acid from phosphates by (a) decomposing the phosphate with aqs. hydrochloric acid, (b) separating the aqs. liquor from undissolved materials, (c) extracting the aqs. liquor with an organic solvent which dissolves phosphoric acid and only possesses a limited miscibility with water, (D) separating the product extracted by the solvent from the aqs. product, (e) treating the product extracted by the solvent with an aqs. liquor, (f) separating the aqs. liquor from the solvent phase, and (g) recovering the uranium from the separatd aqs. liquor.
