Abstract

Synthetic leathers comprising a layer of polyurethane foam between a textile layer (woollen or fur) and a polyurethane film. Pref. the polyurethane film weighs 50-150 g/sq. m and is flock-covered or crumpled. The foam layer is 0.5 to 2.5 mm thick. The polyurethane film is transferred from a (textured) release paper to a foam-coated textile layer. For clothing, wall coverings, etc., the foam cored composite has a more attractive flexibility and "hand" than synthetic leathers of e.g. PVC or dense polyurethane sheet.
