Abstract

Peristaltic pump system is used to draw a predetermined amount of liquid from a first container, then discharge it into a second receiver substituted for the first, followed by a measured amount of a second liquid. Pref., two flexible tubes are connected in series and lay parallel to one another along curved surface of at least 90 degrees of arc, across which rollers move. Four rollers are mounted on stub shafts at 90 degrees to one another, the shafts being carried on a common main shaft. One roller is mounted to contact one tube and the other three to sequentially contact the other. Used for mixing of e.g. blood serum and water, or transfer followed by rinsing operation.
