Abstract

Placing a base layer on a non-woven or tufted carpet by placing on the carpet (I) a cpd. with at least two NCO groups, and (II) a cpd. with reactive H atoms, which can react with cpd. (I) to form a polyurethane. (I) is pref. tolylene diisocyanate or triphenyl-methane triisocyanate. (II) is pref. a polyether diol or a polyether triol. A catalyst is also pref. present in (I) or (II). Pref. Na phenate, Pb octoate, or dibutyltri laurate. The base layers obtained have excellent dimensional stability and grip.
