Abstract

1507014 Coated wooden bobbin body ROCKWELL INTERNATIONAL CORP 22 March 1976 [2 May 1975] 11402/76 Heading DIE [Also in Divisions B2 and B8] A textile bobbin comprises a wooden bobbin body which has been dried to less than 9% by weight of moisture, a first protective layer adherent directly to and penetrating the exposed surface of the bobbin body, the layer being applied as a coating of a material including the ricinoleate diphenyl methane diisocyanate prepolymer and trifunctional polyether polyol, and a second protective layer adherent directly to the first layer and being applied as a coating of a material including ricinoleate diphenyl methane diisocyanate prepolymer and trifunctional polyether polyol modified with 30% to 50% thermoplastic acrylic copolymer based on polyurethane solids, the second layer being applied before the material of the first layer has completely cured so as to form a diffusion zone between the two layers.
