The invention relates to a yarn and its manufacturing process, which yarn is intended to be used in warp and / or weft for making fabrics having elastic properties in at least one direction.
This process starts with a yarn of a synthetic nature, of the kind known under the name of foam yarn, that is to say of twisted yarns which have undergone twisting and untwisting treatments which give them elasticity properties. For the clarity of the following description, these threads will moreover be referred to as being elastic synthetic threads.
These threads having a coefficient of elasticity that is too high to be able to be used in weaving in the manner of traditional threads, that is to say without requiring means which make the weaving complex and delicate, the invention consists in subjecting to these threads an operation to temporarily block them.
elasticity, so as to allow their weaving as if they were ordinary non-elastic threads.
The method according to the invention consists, for this purpose, in immobilizing, in the extended position, the elastic synthetic thread by means of another thread which is wound around it to block its elasticity by keeping it stretched, but the effect of which is eliminated by a subsequent treatment imposed on the fabric produced in whole or in part with this thread.
The invention consists, in other words, in making a wrapped yarn whose core is constituted by the elastic synthetic yarn, but is blocked by the wrapping yarn, in using this wrapped yarn for the production of a fabric and , after weaving, to release the core yarn by means of a treatment the nature of which depends on that of the wrapping yarn.
The invention will be well understood moreover, with the aid of the description which follows and gives, by way of indicative, non-limiting example, an assembly method and a composition of a wire according to the invention intended for making an elastic fabric in the direction of the warp.
The starting elastic synthetic yarn is a twisted yarn made up of two 70 denier yarns, in polyamide or in polyester and:
One of which underwent a first twist at 3200 S turns, was untwisted and underwent a second twist at 200 Z turns; While the other underwent a first twist at 3,200 Z turns, was untwisted and underwent a second twist at 50 S turns.
These two yarns having been assembled with a twist at 150 S turns, the resulting twisted yarn is coated, according to the invention, with a 15 denier monofilament yarn, of polyamide or of polyester, twisted at 400 S turns; and the twist of this yarn around the twisted yarn is 350 Z turns.
Thus, a wrapped yarn is produced, the core of which is elastic, but the covering yarn of which blocks the elasticity, if the wrapping operation, that is to say of winding the single-strand yarn around the twisted yarn , was executed in the state of extension of the twisted yarn, that is to say of the core.
This results in the possibility of using this yarn for weaving, as a warp yarn, without it being necessary to take special precautions, such as: high tension, sizing; and after weaving, it suffices to subject the fabric to an appropriate wet treatment to eliminate the effects of the wrapping yarn and therefore to restore the twisted yarn to its original elasticity. This treatment may consist of spraying in the case of a yarn-dyed fabric or of scouring in the case of a piece-dyed fabric.
Thus, an elastic fabric in the warp direction is finally obtained.
As goes without saying and as it emerges moreover already from what has been said, the invention is not limited to the only composition and to the only application of this yarn, which have been indicated above by way of
