CONSISTE EN HACER REACCIONAR 9-DEOXO-9A-AZA-9A-HOMOERITROMICINA D CON FORMALDEHIDO, EN PRESENCIA DE UN AGENTE REDUCTOR, COMO ACIDO FORMICO, ENTRE 20 Y 60JC, PARA OBTENER EL COMPUESTO 9-DEOXO-9A-METIL-9A-AZA-9A-HOMOERITROMICINA D, DE FORMULA (I) O SUS SALES FARMACEUTICAMENTE ACEPTABLES POR ADICION DE ACIDOS COMO: CLH, BRH, NO3H, SO4, H2, HOOC-CH2-COOH, CIS Y TRANS-HOOC-CH-CH-COOH, CH3SO3H, Y P-CH3C6H4SO3H. SIENDO: R, METILO; Y RA Y RB, HIDROGENO. SE UTILIZAN, ASI COMO LOS PRODUCTOS DE LA SINTESIS INTERMEDIOS, EN FARMACOLOGIA PARA EL TRATAMIENTO ORAL DE INFECCIONES BACTERIANAS SUSCEPTIBLES EN MAMIFEROS.
