Abstract
PROCEDIMIENTO Y SU CORRESPONDIENTE CONJUNTO UNITARIO DE MEMBRANA-ELECTRODO PARA GENERAR HIDROXIDO DE SODIO.CONSISTE EN ELECTROLIZAR UNA SOLUCION DE ELECTROLITO DE METAL ALCALINO ENTRE UN PAR DE ELECTRODOS SEPARADOS POR UNA MEMBRANA DE CAMBIO CATIONICO, FORMADA EN UN LADO POR UNA ESTRUCTURA DE CAPAS MULTIPLES PERMEABLE A LIQUIDOS Y GASES, SUJETA A EL. DICHA ESTRUCTURA SE COMPONE DE UNA CAPA CONDUCTORA SUJETA A LA MEMBRANA Y QUE TIENE PARA LA REACCION ELECTROQUIMICA UNA SOBRETENSION MAS ELEVADA QUE LA CAPA DE ELECTRODO SUJETA EN LA SUPERFICIE SUPERIOR ALEJADA DE LA MEMBRANA,CON LO CUAL LA ZONA DE REACCION ELECTROQUIMICA ESTA SITUADA EN LA CAPA DE ELECTRODO Y SEPARADA DE LA MEMBRANA.TIENE APLICACION EN CUBAS ELECTROQUIMICAS AL PRESENTAR LAS VENTAJAS DE REDUCIR LA RETRO-MIGRACION DE LOS IONES OH- Y AUMENTAR EL RENDIMIENTO DE LA CORRIENTE CATODICA.
