METODO PARA PREPARAR UN ALUMINATO DE METAL ALCALINO-TERREO LUMINISCENTE ACTIVADO POR EUROPIO DIVALENTE.CONSISTE EN PREPARAR UNA MEZCLA DE OXIDO DE BARIO, DEL QUE HASTA UN 25 EN MOLES PUEDE ESTAR REEMPLAZADO POR OXIDO DE ESTRONCIO, ALUMINA Y OXIDO DE EUROPIO, O POR COMPUESTOS QUE SE CONVIERTEN EN ESTOS OXIDOS POR CALENTAMIENTO, ELIGIENDOSE LA PROPORCION MOLAR ENTRE EL METAL ALCALINO-TERREO Y EL ALUMINIO, DE MANERA QUE ESTA COMPRENDIDA ENTRE 1:5 Y 1:10. LA MEZCLA OBTENIDA SE CALIENTE EN ATMOSFERA DEBILMENTE REDUCTORA A UNA TEMPERATURA COMPRENDIDA ENTRE 1.100 Y 1.400 GRADOS.DE APLICACION EN LA OBTENCIONDE LAMPARAS DE DESCARGA DE VAPOR DE MERCURIO A BAJA PRESION Y EN LA OBTENCION DE PANTALLAS LUMINISCENTES.
