Abstract

1,197,279. Luminescent materials. PHILIPS ELECTRONIC & ASSOCIATED INDUSTRIES Ltd. 19 June, 1969 [22 June, 1968], No. 31023/69. Heading C4S. A phosphor comprises an alkaline earth metal borophosphate activated by divalent Eu defined by the formula where 0À5#x#0 and 0À15#y#0À003. The phosphors are prepared by heating twice in N 2 and H 2 alkaline earth metal carbonates, Eu 2 O 3 , H 3 BO 3 and (NH 4 ) 2 HPO 4 . The phosphors are used with organic binders to coat 1.p. Hg discharge lamps for photo-chemical document copying.
