Abstract
PURPOSE: A fluorescent substance, expressed by a specific composition formula, containing a manganese-activated bivalent metallic orthophosphate fluorescent substance, a trivalent metal and arsenic as a coactivating agent, and capable of exhibiting an emission of higher brightness under excitation with electron rays and even under ultraviolet light excitation.
CONSTITUTION: A fluorescent substance expressed by the formula [MIII is boron, aluminum, scandium, gallium, indium, thallium, etc.; M is arsenic, lead, etc.; a, b and c are as follows: 5×10-4≤a≤10-1; 0<b≤10-1, preferably 10-4≤b≤ 7× 10-2; 0≤c<10-1, preferably 10-4≤c≤7×10-2; 0≤x≤1, preferably 0<x≤0.5], and containing a manganese -activated bivalent metallic orthophosphate fluorescent substance, a trivalent metal, e.g. boron or aluminum, as the first coactivating agent and arsenic, etc. as the second activating agent.
USE: A cathode ray tube fluorescent substance for display used in a terminal display apparatus of a computer.
