DISPOSICION DE RECIPIENTE PARA EL ALMACENAMIENTO A LARGO PLAZO DE MATERIALES RADIACTIVOS, ESPECIALMENTE DE ELEMENTOS COMBUSTIBLES IRRADIADOS.CONSTA DE: UN RECIPIENTE (1) EN EL QUE SE ENCUENTRA EL MATERIAL RADIACTIVO (2) A ALMACENAR Y UNA BATERIA DE ISOTOPOS (3), UN TERMOELEMENTO CUYO PUNTO CALIENTE (4) DE SOLDURA SE ENCUENTRA EN EL INTERIOR DEL RECIPIENTE, EN LA ZONA DE RADIACION DEL MATERIAL ALMACENADO, MIENTRAS QUE EL PUNTO FRIO (5) DE SOLDADURA ESTA DISPUESTO EN LA ENVOLTURA (6) DEL RECIPIENTE. EL TERMOELEMENTO (3) ESTA UNIDO ELECTRICAMENTE CON LA ENVOLTURA (6) DEL RECIPIENTE YCON ANODO (7) DE GRAFITO, EL CUAL SE ENCUENTRA FUERA DEL RECIPIENTE. CON EL FIN DE IMPEDIR UNA DESTRUCCION POR CORROSION DEL ANODO, SE UTILIZA UN MANANTIAL DE CORRIENTE CONTINUA QUE MANTIENE LA CORRIENTE PROTECTORA SUPERPUESTA TAL QUE SIEMPRE POSEA UNA TENSION ELECTRICA MAS ELEVADA QUE LOS MICROELEMENTOS O MACROELEMENTOS. COMO MANANTIAL DE ENERGIA PARA LAS BACTERIAS DE ISOTOPOS SE UTILIZA EL MANANTIAL RADIACTIVO (2) ALMACENADO EN EL RECIPIENTE (1).
