Abstract
In a digester for obtaining methane from cellulose waste, for energy-saving temperature control for optimal anaerobic fermentation, fermentation liquid, such as farm slurry, in a collecting chamber under a perforated intermediate floor carrying the cellulose waste is heated by supplying heat from outside. The heated fermentation liquid is transported vertically upwards and delivered, uniformly distributed, onto the cellulose waste. The fermentation liquid then runs downwards under the influence of gravity within the cellulose waste into the collecting chamber, which makes it possible to keep the temperature of the cellulose waste in the very narrow optimal fermentation range. A vertical central pipe is provided in the digester and extends from the collecting chamber through the intermediate floor and through the cellulose waste via an upper grid and terminates in a syphon. A free upwards-directed convection current of the fermentation liquid is set up in the pipe. The pipe can also be passed, with interpolation of a pump bringing about a forced convection current, outside the digester from the collecting chamber via the upper grid. The activation of the pump can be controlled by a temperature sensor located in the cellulose waste.
