CONSISTE EN LA REACCION DE CONDENSACION DE DIECKMANN, SEGUIDA DE DESCARBOXILACION DE A-((6-ACETIL-2-METOXICARBONIFENIL)-OXI)-Y-BUTIROLACTONA, EN UN SOLO PROCESO, EN PRESENCIA DE UNA BASE ORGANICA QUE FAVORECE LA CONDENSACION DEL ESTER, Y DE UN CATALIZADOR, TAL COMO HALUROS METALICOS Y SALES DE AMONIO CUATERNARIO, QUE FAVORECE LA DESCARBOXILACION. TAMBIEN SE PUEDE OBTENER POR DESCARBOXILACION DE 7-ACETIL-4'', 5''-DIHIDROESPIRO(BENZO(B)FURAN-2(3H, 3''(2H)-FURAN)-2'', 3-DIONA. ESTE COMPUESTO TIENE APLICACIONES FARMACOLOGICAS POR SUS EFECTOS COMO INHIBIDORES DE LA SECRECION GASTRICA, ANTIINFLAMATORIOS Y ANALGESICOS.
