1360056 1 - Heterocyclylcarbonylindole - 3- acetic acids and esters CHINOIN GYOGYSZER ES VEGYESZETI TERMEKEK GYARA RT 16 July 1971 [31 July 1970] 33573/71 Heading C2C Compounds of formula (wherein R halogen- or nitro-substituted heterocyclyl containing ring O, S and/or N; R<SP>1</SP>, R<SP>2</SP> are each H or alkyl ; and R<SP>3</SP> is H, alkyl or alkoxy) are prepared by (a) reacting a compound p-R<SP>3</SP>C 6 H 4 N(R<SP>5</SP>)COR(II), where R<SP>5</SP> is amino, alkylideneamino or NHSO 3 H, with provided that when II is an N-acylhydrazine or -hydrazone (i.e. R<SP>5</SP> # NHSO 3 H) it is prepared by acylation, or (b) cyclizing a compound of formula Therapeutic compositions comprise the compounds of the given formula (prepared as described above), which have anti-inflammatory analgesic, anti-pyretic and anti-arteriosclerotic activity.
