Abstract

The solar heating panel comprises a heat pipe (1) with the evaporating section exposed to solar radiation (2) and the condensing section (22) immersed in the water reservoir (9). The evaporating section is in contact with an extended heat conducting surface (20) to increase the collection efficiency. The heat of the sun's rays evaporates the fluid in the heat pipe. The gas then passes to the condenser where the latent heat of vapourisation is given up to the water as the gas condenses. The condensate flows back to the evaporating section of the heat pipe.
