SEPARADOR PARA LOS ELECTRODOS DE UN ACUMULADOR ELECTRICO. TIENE POR OBJETO EVITAR EL DESPRENDIMIENTO DE GASES DE UN ACUMULADOR CON EL ELECTROLITO LIQUIDO ACIDO O ALCALINO SN QUE TENGA QUE MODIFICARSE SENSIBLEMENTE LA CONSTITUCION USUAL DEL MISMO. EL SEPARADOR (3) SE ENCUENTRA ENTRE UN ELECTRODO POSITIVO DE DIOXIDO DE PLOMO (1) Y OTRO NEGATIVO DE PLOMO (2), ESTANDO TODOS ELLOS SUMERGIDOS EN UN ELECTROLITO LIQUIDO DE ACIDO SULFURICO. ESTA CONSTITUIDO POR UN BASTIDOR DE MATERIAL FIBROSO DE POLIPROPILENO MICROPOROSO (4). LOS MICROPOROS DE LAS ZONAS PERMEABLES A LOS GASES PRESENTA UN DIAMETRO DE 3 MM. COMO MINIMO.
