Abstract

A method and apparatus for cutting up a tubular work-piece 3 uses two tools 17 the cutting edges of which are contained in the same diametral plane as the work-piece 3 and which in this plane define the profile desired for the cut end of the work-piece 3. Each tool 17 is actuated in synchronism by an articulated system comprised of a lever 20 with two arms, one of which is connected to the tool 17 and the other of which is connected by a connecting rod 24 to an eccentric 25 driven by a shaft 26 in two directions of rotation and at two speeds. The workpiece is held in a body 6 carrying a rotatably driven sleeve, this having an axially movable clamping ring and a resilient workpiece gripping ring.
