Abstract

A rear seat belt fitting for a folding seat has the seat belt clasp (7) attached to a fitting (9) with a second clasp (13) on the bottom end. This engages a floor mounting (14) when the seat is dropped into place. The floor mounting clasp is released by a remote cable pull (15) with a handgrip (15) in the front of the squab. The fitting frees the floor of the vehicle from seat belts when converted for luggage space. The double clasp is attached to the sides of the seat and is swung aside with the seat in one simple mounting.
