Abstract

Un método para tratar catalíticamente los gases de escape procedentes de un motor de combustión interna de dos tiempos, que comprende hacer pasar los gases de escape a una zona de catalizador que contiene catalizador de oxidación para proporcionar un efluente de combustión de catalizador, en que el catalizador de oxidación está compuesto de por lo menos dos cuerpos de catalizador unitarios, secuencialmente adyacentes, teniendo cada uno de ellos una pluralidad de pasos a través de él en que el primer cuerpo de catalizador tiene medios de aproximadamente 15 pasos por centímetro cuadrado de sección transversal, y el segundo cuerpo de catalizador tiene por lo menos aproximadamente 23 pasos por centímetro cuadrado de sección transversal.
