Abstract

To make such a line continuity test in a time division multiplex system a VF transmitter is connected to the line to be tested at the "receive" time slot and a VF receiver is so connected at the "transmit" time. The result of sending a signal via such a connection is to cause a continuity test. To ensure that the correct line is tested, the transhybrid loss is automatically altered for a short period.
