Un procedimiento para la preparación de nuevos derivados de ácido clavulánico de la fórmula (II) **(Fórmula)** en la que R es un grupo azido y R3 es un grupo carboxilo o carboxilo esterificado, en el que un compuesto de la fórmula (III) **(Fórmula)** (en la que R3 es un grupo carboxilo esterificado y X es un átomo o grupo fácilmente reemplazable) se hace reaccionar con una azida, seguido si se desea, por desesterificación.
