Abstract

Un procedimiento para fabricar fibras modacrílicas que tienen alta retracción, inflamabilidad reducida y alto brillo, caracterizado por las etapas de preparar una mezcla de hilado viscosa constituida por una solución, en un disolvente orgánico de hilado miscible con el agua, de una mezcla de copolímeros derivados de acrilonitrilo, cloruro de vinilideno, al menos un éster vinílico y al menos un monómero insaturado que contiene al menos un grupo sulfónico, en el que las unidades derivadas de acrilonitrilo están presentes en una cantidad de 50% a 85% en peso y las derivadas del éster vinílico en una cantidad de 3% a 6% en peso; hilar dicha mezcla en un baño de coagulación constituido por una mezcla de agua y disolvente de hilado; estirar la fibra coagulada con una relación de estirado de 1,5 a 4,5 en un líquido caliente seleccionado del grupo constituido por agua y mezclas de agua y disolvente de hilado; secar subsiguientemente la fibra por medio de aire caliente a temperaturas comprendidas entre 100ºC y 130ºC mientras que se deja que la misma se contraiga libremente al mismo tiempo; y someter subsiguientemente la fibra a un estirado adicional al aire con una relación de estirado de 1,5 a 3,5 a una temperatura de 50º a 100ºC.
