Abstract

Un método de formación de un artículo de nitruro de silicio que consiste en: formar un artículo conteniendo por lo menos algunas partículas de silicio capaces de reaccionar con el nitrógeno para formar nitruro de silicio, teniendo dicho artículo una densidad inferior a la final, con lo cual presenta por lo menos un cierto grado de porosidad; calentar dicho artículo a una temperatura inferior a la temperatura de reacción a la cual el nitrógeno gaseoso reacciona con las partículas de silicio citadas; rodear dicho artículo con una atmósfera que contiene por lo menos algo de nitrógeno gaseoso.
