A process for the preparation of new skin care emulsions comprising an oil-in-water (or water-in-oil) emulsion, non-pigmented, with essentially spherical particles of synthetic polymers or copolymers dispersed therein, with an average size of particle comprised between 5 and 25 microns; which process comprises: a) emulsifying the water and the oil in such a way that the water is present in a proportion of 60 to 90% by weight optionally, together with a perfume; b) suitably dispersing in the emulsion from 2 to 10% by weight of the substantially spherical particles of polymer or copolymer, defined above.
