Abstract
Un procedimiento para la preparación de ácido clavulánico y sus sales que consisten en: a) cultivar una cepa de Streptomyces jumonjinensis en un medio nutritivo que contiene fuentes asimilables de carbono y nitrógeno, sales minerales y, opcionalmente, agentes antiespumantes y/o vitaminas, a una temperatura comprendida entre 16 y 35ºC y a pH comprendido entre 5 y 8,5; b) separar las células del Streptomyces jumonjinensis del caldo de fermentación por filtración o centrifugación; c) extraer el ácido clavulánico y sus sales del filtrado de cultivo; d) opcionalmente, desplazar salineamente o precipitar una sal insoluble en agua del ácido clavulánico; e) opcionalmente, formar un éster del ácido clavulánico, purificar el éster y después regenerar el ácido clavulánico o una sal del mismo a partir del éster; y f) opcionalmente, si se desea purificar todavía más el ácido clavulánico o una de sus sales obtenidas, someterlos a una cromatografía en columna cambiador de ión.
