Abstract
Procedure for the preparation, of pyrrolin-2-one derivatives, of the general formula **(See formula)** characterized in that in a first stage, the compound of the formula is heated in an appropriate solvent containing appropriate amounts of water **(See formula)** where R'is an alkyl radical containing 1 to 3 carbon atoms and n is an integer from 0 to 2 inclusive, in a second stage the corresponding dehydroalkoxy compound of the formula is hydrogenated with complex hydrides **(See formula)** in which R1 has the meaning indicated above, in a third step, under appropriate conditions, a corresponding acylating agent is treated, in the presence of an appropriate organic base, the corresponding 4-hydroxy compound thus obtained, with a fourth step, the corresponding 4-acyloxy derivative is transformed into the unsaturated delta compound by heating in the presence of an appropriate organic base, and finally the latter compound is treated with ammonia or a mono- or di-substituted amine HNR1R2 where and R2 have the aforementioned meaning except that R1 and R2 are hydrogen to obtain the desired compounds.
