Abstract
An electrically conductive crosslinked polymer formulation is produced by using a) a polymer material which is elastomeric in the crosslinked state at room temperature, b) a thermoplastic polymer material whose glass transition temperature, if it is amorphous, is above room temperature, and c) conductive particles or ab) a copolymer, which is composed of polymers a) and b) which are chemically bonded to one another, and c) conductive particles and by crosslinking the polymers or the copolymer ab). Before crosslinking, the polymer material a) has a noticeable initial strength. The crosslinked formulation has an electrical resistance which increases with increasing temperature, at least in a temperature range above the melting point of the components a) and b). Using the formulation obtained, it is possible to create heating elements whose control action continues even when their temperature rises above the melting point of the thermoplastic polymer.
