Abstract
A method and its apparatus for making a connection to a tubular element, characterized by the combination comprising: a housing element arranged to be mounted in telescopic relationship with the cylindrical member, the housing member has two annular recesses, generally channel-shaped, axially spaced, each of which is oriented in a generally radial direction; an elastic annular retainer mounted on each recess and contacting its walls to form closed annular chambers, radially behind them, one of the retainers being arranged to engage in closure between the members upon being radially deformed; device supported radially adjacent to the other retainer to lock the members in the telescopic position, when operated; and device for fluid pressure of the annular chambers, to thereby radially deform the seals, whereby the detent adjacent to the gripping device drives the gripping device to the treating position, and the other detent is moved to the closed position.
