Improvements in hot water supply installations of the type comprising a tank defining an inlet mouth, means for heating water in said tank, conduit means for conducting cold water to said inlet mouth and a shut-off valve in said means for conduit to selectively allow and prevent the flow of cold water through them, towards said tank inlet mouth, and anti-siphoning and ventilation cooperation means, characterized in that the installation is provided with control means in said conduit means between said shut-off valve and said inlet means to selectively provide a contiguous passage for directing cold water flow from said valve through said tank inlet mouth when said valve is arranged to allow said cold water flow, opening said passage to the atmosphere when said valve is arranged to avoid said f luxury of cold water, in order to ventilate said inlet mouth of the tank and avoid the back flow of water through said conduit towards said shut-off valve.
