Abstract

An electrically conductive grinding tool is prepared by mixing finely divided electrically conductive powder with ceramic bonding material having a lower melting-point than the conductive powder, and combining a wetted abrasive, with the mixture and moulding the overall mix to shape and firing at a temperature below the melting-point of the conductive powder. The conductive material may be silver or copper. The ceramic bonding material may be a composition of metallic oxides, and clay, a composition of clay and glass, or sodium carbonate or boric acid and the abrasive may be silicon carbide.
