Abstract
In an air conditioning unit in which the air is heated or cooled, and also filtered, and having an induction nozzle 11 for primary air and inlets 19, 24 for re-circulated air there are provided shutters 13 and 14, 17 pivoted at 23, 21 respectively which open and close the inlets and also isolate the heat exchangers from an induction shaft 12. Primary air flows from an inlet 9 to a chamber 10 and thence through nozzles 11 and to an outlet 26. Heat exchanger 7 heats air entering through inlet 19 and exchanger 8 cools air entering through inlet 24 a wall 29 is placed in front of inlet 24. Filters 6, 20 are provided in the inlets. A passage 22 and space 27 and collection channel 28 facilitate the removal or collection of dirt and condensed water. The shutters can be moved from the positions shown in full lines to the dotted line positions or to intermediate positions. With the shutters in the full-line positions shown, air passes through inlet 19 and into a space 18 thereby avoiding both heat exchangers. If less cooling is required an exchanger 8 of less height is fitted and the remainder of opening 24 is covered by sheet metal.
