Abstract

In an automatic centrally disposed coupling, comprising coupling head 1a, coupling arm 1 and stirrup 5, a device for supporting and centrally stabilizing the coupling, which is vertically and horizontally effective, is arranged substantially parallel to the coupling arm and is supported between a bracket 3 cast with arm 1 and a bearing block 8 which is fast with stirrup 5, guided in a slot 6 of a retaining plate 7 and receives a steel insert 9c of the device. The device comprises a spring 4 compressed between flanges 9a and 11a of outer and inner guide tubes 9 and' 11. When the device is in position a tensioning pin 13 is removed and the force of spring 4 can be adjusted by means of an adjustable ball-joint 14 which engages in bracket 3. In Fig: 4, noses are provided on the insert which engage recesses in the bearing block. In the modification of Fig. 5 (not shown), theblock 8 is fast with a vehicle undercarriage and the spring of the supporting device has a relatively long spring path.
