1316250 Mountings for cameras W VINTEN Ltd 29 Oct 1971 50488/71 Heading G2J A tiltable mounting includes a base 15, a tiltable platform 21 to which an article to be tilted can be secured, guide means associated with the platform and with the base to permit free rise and fall of the platform relative to the base, a cam and cam follower assembly 22, 23 disposed between the base and the platform so that the platform is constrained to rise as it is tilted away from the horizontal and vice versa, and frictional braking means for braking the tilting movement comprising a plate secured to the platform and two pads disposed one on each side of the plate and carried by a part of the platform guide means. The pressure of the friction pads may be adjustable; and a similar plate and friction pad arrangement with movable pads may be used to clamp the support in position. The base may be mounted for rotation about a vertical axis and friction braking pads provided for this movement.
