Abstract
1460426 Bottom-pour ladles NIPPON KOKAN KK KOKANKIKAI KOGYO KK and TOKYO YOGYO KK 16 Jan 1975 [25 Jan 1974] 1983/75 Heading F4B The component parts of the sliding gate of a bottom-pour ladle are assembled in apparatus having a carriage 6, Fig. 2, with a rest 5 receiving the metal holder of the refractory bottom plate or the refractory sliding plate, the carriage moving on rails 22 between an assembling position and a position under a press 12 adapted to keep the refractory plate in position in the holder while it is being clamped. The upper part 8, Fig. 5, of the carriage 6 is mounted on springs 9 which compress when the press 12 is operated so that the part 8 bears on side rails 7. The press has an hydraulic cylinder 20 and bears against the refractory plate 2 by radial arms 11 mounted on a spherical-seat connector to allow tilting. Downwardly extending pins 10 on the arms 11 bear on the upper face of the holder rim when the plate is properly positioned in the holder. A rod 18 on one of the arms is connected to an indicator showing on a scale when the plate is properly positioned and the holder and plate are then clamped together.
