Abstract
In apparatus for heating and cooling rooms, room air is induced by compressed air to flow upwardly along the face of a heat exchanger. Compressed air is supplied through a duct 2 and passes into a distributer duct which has nozzle outlets 8 facing upwardly towards a heat exchanger 5. The heat exchanger comprises a flat back plate 9 and a front plate comprising ridges 10 which carry heating or cooling medium, and between which are U - shaped air channels. The nozzles 8 are located directly beneath the U-shaped channels. The heat exchanger is removably mounted on holders 21, 24 so that it can be cleaned and sterilized when used in a hospital. Condensation from the heat exchanger surface drips into a collector groove 17 and runs into an outlet 25.
