The present invention relates to the field of packaging of bulky manufactured products, the majority of times transported in the form of pallets or other transport units, of the type of those particularly used to protect the stacks of panels or rolls of mineral wool ( glass wool or rock wool) and conditioned according to well-known techniques that facilitate its transport and its implantation.

The panels or rolls of mineral wool are flexible and compressible and are most of the time arranged in compacted piles within adapted transport units. Particular reference may be made to the publication of application WO2006 / 077347 for an example of such packaging.

As described in the aforementioned application, the mineral wool materials are kept in compressed form in their transport to limit the cost, particularly by the use of plastic films whose mechanical properties of elasticity are adapted, accompanied by strapping firmly disposed around the compacted piles.

To prevent the strapping or the film from damaging the mineral wool units or their sliding, most of the time a protective cardboard is placed in the form of a cover above the platform whose dimensions are adapted to cover the whole from The top of the transport unit.

It is known from DE 202008014502 U1 a transport unit protected by means of a protective card. The documents GB 2356855, DE 8328912 U1 and DE 3925753 disclose plates for forming lids and containers of modular dimension.

Even if it is made with a recyclable material, a cardboard has an environmental cost, just like the waste of the rest of the packaging products contained in the transport unit.

An aim of the invention is to decrease the environmental cost of said transport unit, particularly by giving a second use to the packaging of the product and very particularly to the cardboard covering described above.

In this regard, the present invention has first of all a sheet of cardboard as described in claim 1, of rectangular shape, configured to form a lid on a transport unit of manufactured products, mainly arranged in said unit with the In the form of rolls or panels, said sheet has a rectangular bottom of length A and of width B surrounded by four cover flaps of which an upper flap, a lower longitudinal flap, and two transverse flaps, said sheet of cardboard is characterized by which is also configured to form, after its use as a lid, a waste container of polygonal section, preferably of square or rectangular section, the sheet of cardboard being presented for this purpose:

According to the invention, said cross-sectional markings of cut-outs indicate on said cardboard the location of the four-flap cut-out lines forming the bottom of said container after the folding of said card according to said folding lines. In addition, the upper longitudinal flap and the rectangular bottom have cutout marks of openings that form handles, the marks being configured to overlap after folding the upper longitudinal flap inside the container and thus reinforcing said handles.

Preferably according to the invention, said panels or rolls comprise or are constituted by mineral wool, in particular glass wool or rock wool.

According to particular modes of embodiment, the sheet of cardboard and / or the transport unit that includes said sheet includes one or more of the following characteristics taken separately or according to any technically possible combination:

- The cardboard sheet also includes a second series of fold lines that delimit the rectangular bottom and the longitudinal and transverse flaps.

- The marks of the trimming lines extend over the lower longitudinal flap, in the extension of the marks of the transverse folding lines.

- After said trimming, each portion of said lower longitudinal flap forms part of the flaps of the bottom of the container.

The invention also has as its object a method in which the sheet of cardboard described above is first used as a cover in a transport unit for manufactured products and then transformed into a waste container after unpacking said products.

- The process includes a first stage of transformation of the cardboard sheet into a lid with four flaps and a subsequent stage of transformation of the lid into a waste container with a polygonal section.

- The cover is used to cover a stack of objects to be protected before the strap as a transport unit, transforming the lid into a waste container after unpacking said unit.

- The object to be protected is a stack of panels or rolls of flexible material, for example panels or rolls of mineral wool.

The object of the invention is finally a transport unit of manufactured products grouped in panel or roll forms, particularly in the form of packages or pales, which includes a sheet of cardboard such as the one described above, said sheet of cardboard forming a said pale lid.

The invention will be better understood by reading the following description, provided only by way of example; the embodiment that will be described now should not be considered as limiting the scope of the present invention.

The description is made with reference to the attached drawings in which:

- Figure 1 is a view illustrating a sheet of cardboard according to the invention, before folding and trimming;

- Figures 2 to 6 are perspective views illustrating the operations necessary for the transformation of the sheet of Figure 1 into a waste container.

As can be seen in Figure 1, the sheet of cardboard is first intended to be used as a protective cover.

To this end, the sheet of cardboard 1 presents a first series of marks that visualize fold lines 7 and some marks that visualize cut lines 12 that allow the configuration of the cardboard in a cover specially adapted to the dimensions of the transport unit of length A and width B.

More precisely, the sheet of cardboard, of total length L and of total width C, has a first series of printed fold marks 7, said marks 7 delimiting a rectangular background 2 of length A and of width B and four flaps of cover between which an upper longitudinal flap 3, a lower longitudinal flap 9 and two transverse flaps 4. The longitudinal flaps 3, 9 have a width (CB) / 2, the transverse flaps 4 have a width (LA) / 2.

The sheet of cardboard also has a first series of marks of cutting edges 12. These lines 12, which start from the corners of the rectangular bottom 2, provide for each corner two possibilities for cutting the flaps for the formation of the cover, forming the cutting edges with the edges of the cardboard sheet a square extension 6 whose two diagonally opposite corners form a corner of the sheet of cardboard 1 and the corresponding corner of the rectangular bottom 2.

The sheet of cardboard also has folding marks 7, particularly in the form of pre-printed marks on the cardboard, or of pre-folds or also of pre-cuts (in the form of interrupted lines perforated lines for example), which delimit a edge of the rectangular bottom 2. These fold marks 7 display the lines according to the which cover flaps must be folded by the operator to obtain said cover. After folding, the square extension 6 of the flaps cut on a small side of the square is folded back and glued (by means of a glue or an adhesive) or alternatively stapled onto the adjacent flap. As a variant, said squares can be completely cut out and removed during the formation of the lid.

According to the invention, the same sheet of cardboard first used as a cover for the transport unit is also configured to be able to be transformed into a waste container after said first use. In this respect (that is to say for this second use), the sheet of cardboard has specific series of fold marks 8 and cut marks 13.

In the sense of the present invention, as already indicated above, a "mark" is designated as any sign that can be immediately seen by an operator as a clear indication of the places of folding or trimming that allow the transformation of the cardboard into lid or container. These are, for example, ink impressions made directly on the sheet of cardboard, or also other solutions that fall within the framework of the above definition, such as pre-folds, pre-perforations, particularly in the form of interrupted lines (interrupted lining perforators). , pre-perforated (the cardboard is not cut along the line of cut / folded in all its thickness), etc. Of course, different types of marks can be associated on the cardboard.

According to an advantageous mode of the invention, said immediately visualizable elements allow to differentiate the different series of marks between them by means of the use for example of pictograms, color codes, or also thicknesses or styles of different strokes or of a marking nature (ink, pre -folding, lines of interrupted stroke perforating or pre-perforated, see above). Such marks can also be used to visualize and trim the holes of the handles 11.

More precisely, a second series of folding marks 8 can therefore be viewed in the sense described above (for example printed or alternatively integrated if one speaks of pre-folding or of pre-perforations / pre-perforation) according to the invention at the level of the bottom rectangular 2

These marks are arranged in the rectangular bottom according to the following disposition:

The transverse lugs 82 thus divide said rectangular bottom 2 into four longitudinal portions 5 of identical surface. These lines are used for the folding of the rectangular bottom 2 into four equal portions of width A / 4 forming the faces of the waste container as can be seen in figure 3.

Without departing from the scope of the invention, it can also be considered that the transverse lugs 82 are not spaced apart by an identical distance A / 4 but by a succession of different but equal separations two to two (ie a separation between the successive lines A / x then A / and then A / x then A / y, x different from y), for the final obtaining this time of a rectangular base container. In a general way, although the configurations according to which the container has a square or rectangular base are preferred according to the invention, other polygonal sections of the container finally obtained can be considered, without departing from its frame, depending on the number and the spacing of transverse lines 82.

The card 1 also has a second series of cut-outs 13 different from the cut-out lines 12 described above in relation to the formation of the cover. These extend transversely and longitudinally in the respective extension and on either side of the folding marks 81 and 82 described above. They delimit in particular the bottom flaps 10 of the container, namely four bottom flaps 10 of length A / 4.

Once folded, the four bottom flaps 10 form the bottom 41 of the container (see Figure 5).

The four bottom flaps 10 advantageously have a width A / 8, such that they have all the same dimensions and are joined by the edges two to two.

The sheet of cardboard also has cutout markings for handles 11, for example in perforating discontinuous tracing patterns, as indicated above.

Figures 2 to 6 illustrate the process of transformation into waste container of cardboard 1 having previously served as cover to the transport unit, according to a rectangular parallelepiped whose bottom is closed and square, and whose upper surface is open.

The upper longitudinal flap 3 of the cover is configured, after cutting according to the lugs 13, to be folded towards the interior of the container 40 and thus to fold the upper edge 20 of the container (see figures 2 to 6, in particular figure 2) . The upper edge of the final container will thus be reinforced, as will the handles 11 that will be cut by the corresponding cut marks, in such a way that they will overlap after the fold of the flap 3. This will increase the robustness of the box. waste during its manual transport. Similarly, the lower longitudinal flap 9 can be folded on itself to reinforce the bottom 41 of the container 40. Alternatively, it can be cut according to the lower edge 21 of the cover, following the folding line 7 of the inner edge of the flap bottom longitudinal 9. Alternatively also, according to another possible solution that may be preferred, the lower longitudinal flap 9 is placed flat and after trimming, each portion of said flap forms part of the bottom flaps 10. According to said mode, as indicated in FIG. another way in figure 1, the marks 81 are configured so that the width A / 8 of the four bottom flaps 10 this time integrate the width of the lower longitudinal flap 9.

Prior to the folding of the upper longitudinal flap 3 and possibly of the lower longitudinal flap 9, a crease tool can be applied on the fold lines 81 and 82 and a cutting tool can be applied on the lines of the marks of clipping 13, particularly the clipping tools climaver MM and MTR® marketed by the Climaver Company. The same tool specially provided in this respect can be used for the two functions, for example the blade of a blade or knife of which one edge is sharp for cutting and the other blunt for the formation of the folds.

The upper longitudinal flap 3 is folded as in figure 2, after the application of the folding tool according to the folding marks 7 present on the inner edge 22.

After trimming according to the cutting edges 13 (and obtaining the four bottom flaps 10), the sheet of cardboard is then folded according to the transverse folding marks 82, as illustrated by the arrows in Figure 3.

As can be seen in figure 3 and more particularly in figure 4 the sheet of cardboard preferably has a means for fastening by tongue 31 and groove 32 provided in one of the transverse flaps 4 of the lid and the opposite longitudinal portion 5 of the container . Cutting lines are advantageously provided on the sheet of cardboard for pre-cutting these fastening means 30 (or alternatively perforated interrupted lines).

These fastening means are intended to facilitate the application phase of adhesive tape 42 to seal the bottom 41 by assembling the bottom flaps 10 in the folding of the cardboard. It is thus possible to avoid having to apply adhesive on the upper part of the container to maintain the union.

Alternatively, of course, the fastening means 31, 32 can, however, and if necessary be reinforced by supplementary means which allow the fastening and mechanical maintenance of the container thus formed, such as an adhesive, a glue or staples.

In the end, according to figures 5 and 6, a container is obtained that allows to preserve the environment, giving a second use to the packaging of the transport unit. The container can, in particular, advantageously be used during the placement of insulation materials present in the pale, as a storage container for mineral wool waste and waste from the packaging itself (cartons, plastics, adhesives, etc.).
