Description

The present invention relates to the field of packaging of bulky manufactured products, most often transported in the form of pallets or other transport units, of the type of those used in particular to protect the piles of panels or rolls of mineral wool (glass wool or rockwool) and packaged according to well-known techniques facilitating their transport and their implantation.

Mineral wool panels or rolls are flexible and compressible and are most often arranged in compacted piles within suitable transport units. In particular, we can refer to the publication WO2006 / 077347 for an example of such packaging.

As described in the aforementioned application, the mineral wool materials are maintained in compressed form during their transport to limit the cost, in particular by the use of plastic films whose elastic properties of elasticity are adapted, accompanied by strapping arranged firmly around the compacted batteries.

To prevent the strapping or the film from damaging the mineral wool units or its sliding, a protective cardboard is usually provided in the form of a lid above the pallet, the dimensions of which are adapted to encompass the entire top of the transport unit.

A transport unit protected by means of a protective card is for example known from the document DE 20 2008 014502 U1 . The documents GB 2,356,855 , DE 83 28 912 U1 and DE 39 25 753 disclose plates for forming lids and containers of adjustable size.

Even if it is made of a recyclable material, a cardboard nevertheless has an environmental cost, as well as the scrapping of the rest of the packaging products contained in the transport unit.

An object of the invention is to reduce the environmental cost of such a transport unit, in particular by giving a second use to the packaging of the product and particularly to the cardboard cover described above.

For this purpose, the present invention firstly relates to a sheet of cardboard according to claim 1, of rectangular shape, configured for forming a cover on a transport unit for manufactured products, in particular arranged in said unit in the form of rolls or plates, said sheet having a rectangular bottom of length A and width B surrounded by four lid flaps including an upper longitudinal flap, a lower longitudinal flap, and two transverse flaps, said sheet of paperboard being characterized in that it is further configured to form, after its use as a lid, a waste container of polygonal section, preferably of square or rectangular section, the cardboard sheet presenting for this purpose:
  • a series of transverse and longitudinal fold lines marks on the rectangular bottom, and
  • marks of cutting lines extending transversely in the extension of the marks of the transverse fold lines and preferably in the extension of the longitudinal fold line.

The invention also relates to a method in which the previously described cardboard sheet is first used as a cover in a transport unit of manufactured products and is then transformed into a waste container after unpacking said products.
According to preferred configurations of such a method of use:
  • The method includes a first step of converting the four-flap lidstock sheet and a subsequent step of converting the lid into a polygonal section waste container.
  • The lid is used to cover a stack of objects to be protected before strapping into a transport unit, the lid being transformed into a waste container after unpacking said unit.
  • The object to be protected is a stack of panels or rolls of flexible material, for example panels or rolls of mineral wool.

The invention finally relates to a unit for transporting manufactured products grouped in the form of panels or rolls, in particular in the form of packages or pallets, comprising a sheet of cardboard as described above, said sheet of cardboard forming a cover of said palette.

The invention will be better understood on reading the description which follows, provided solely by way of example; the embodiment to be described now should not be considered as limiting the scope of the present invention.

  • la figure 1 est une vue illustrant une feuille de carton selon l'invention, avant pliage et découpe;
The description is made with reference to the accompanying drawings in which:
  • the figure 1 is a view illustrating a sheet of cardboard according to the invention, before folding and cutting;
  • the Figures 2 to 6 are perspective views illustrating the operations needed to transform the sheet of the figure 1 in waste container.

As visible on the figure 1 , the cardboard sheet is primarily intended to be used as a protective cover.

For this purpose, the cardboard sheet 1 has a first series of marks visualizing fold lines 7 and marks visualizing cutting lines 12 allowing the configuration of the cardboard in a lid specially adapted to the dimensions of the transport unit of length A and width B.

A)/2.More specifically, the sheet of cardboard, of total length L and of total width C, has a first series of printed folding marks 7, said marks 7 delimiting a rectangular bottom 2 of length A and width B and four lid flaps of which an upper longitudinal flap 3, a lower longitudinal flap 9 and two transverse flaps 4. The flaps longitudinal members 3, 9 are of width (CB) / 2, the transverse flaps 4 are of width (LA) / 2.

The sheet of cardboard also has a first series of marks of cutting lines 12. These lines 12, which start from the corners of the rectangular bottom 2, give for each corner two possibilities of cutting the flaps for the formation of the lid, the lines of cutting forming with the edges of the cardboard sheet a square extension 6 whose two diagonally opposite corners form a corner of the cardboard sheet 1 and the corresponding corner of the rectangular bottom 2.
The cardboard sheet also has fold marks 7, in particular in the form of marks pre-printed on the cardboard, or pre-folds or pre-cuts (in the form of perforated dots for example), delimiting an edge of the 2. These folding marks 7 visualize the lines according to which the lid flaps must be folded by the operator to obtain said lid. After folding, the square extension 6 flaps cut on a small side of the square is thus folded and glued (via an adhesive or an adhesive) or alternately stapled on the flap adjacent. Alternatively, said squares may be fully cut and removed when forming the lid.

According to the invention, the same cardboard sheet which can be used as a cover for the transport unit is also configured so that it can be transformed into a waste container after said first use.

For this purpose (that is to say for this second use), the cardboard sheet has specific series of fold marks 8 and cutting marks 13.

For the purposes of the present invention, as already indicated above, the term "mark" means any sign immediately visible to an operator as a clear indication of the places of folding or cutting allowing the cardboard to be transformed into a lid or a container. These are, for example, ink impressions made directly on the cardboard sheet, or else other solutions falling within the scope of the preceding definition, such as pre-folds, pre-perforations, especially in the form of dotted lines (perforated dots). ), pre-drilling (the cardboard is not cut on along the line of cutting / folding throughout its thickness) etc. Of course, different types of marks can be associated on the cardboard.

According to an advantageous embodiment of the invention, said immediately visualizable elements make it possible to differentiate the different series of marks from one another by the use for example of pictograms, color codes, or different thicknesses or styles of lines or type of marking (ink, pre-fold, perforating dots or pre-drilling, see above). Such marks can also be used to view and cut the orifices of the handles 11.

More specifically, a second series of folding marks 8 is thus viewable in the sense previously described (for example printed or alternatively integrated if we speak of pre-folding or pre-perforations / pre-drilling) according to the invention at the level of the rectangular bottom 2 .

These marks are arranged on the rectangular bottom according to the following provision:
  • A longitudinal line 81 drawn at a distance equal to A / 8 from the inner edge of the lower longitudinal flap 9, this line covering the entire length A of the rectangular bottom 2.
  • three transverse lines 82 spaced a distance A / 4 along the length A of the rectangular bottom 2 and extending from the inner edge 22 of the upper longitudinal flap 3 to the longitudinal line 81 described above.

The transverse lines 82 thus divide said rectangular bottom 2 into four longitudinal portions 5 of equal area. These lines serve as a guide for the folding of the rectangular bottom 2 into four equal portions of width A / 4 forming the faces of the waste container as it is visible on the figure 3 .

Without departing from the scope of the invention, it is also conceivable that the transverse lines 82 are not spaced by an identical distance A / 4 but a succession of different but equal spacings two by two (ie say a spacing between the successive lines A / x then A / y then A / x then A / y, x different from y), for the final obtaining this time of a container with a rectangular base. In general, if the configurations according to which the container has a square or rectangular base are preferred according to the invention, it is possible to envisage, without departing from its scope, other polygonal sections of the container finally obtained, depending on the number and the spacing of the transverse lines 82.

Elles délimitent en particulier les rabats de fond 10 du conteneur, à savoir quatre rabats de fond 10 de longueur A/4.The carton 1 also has a second series of cutting marks 13 distinct from the cutting lines 12 previously described in connection with the formation of the lid. These extend transversely and longitudinally in the respective extension and on either side of the folding marks 81 and 82 described above. They delimit in particular the bottom flaps 10 of the container, namely four bottom flaps 10 of length A / 4.

Une fois repliés, les quatre rabats de fond 10 forment le fond 41 du container (voir figure 5).Once folded, the four bottom flaps 10 form the bottom 41 of the container (see figure 5 ).

The four bottom flaps 10 are preferably of width A / 8, so that they are all the same size and joined two by two.

The cardboard sheet also has cutting marks of handles 11, for example in the form of perforated dots, as indicated above.

The Figures 2 to 6 illustrate the process of converting into a waste container of the cardboard 1 having previously served as a cover for the transport unit, according to a rectangular parallelepiped whose bottom is closed and square, and whose upper face is open.

The upper longitudinal lid flap 3 is configured, after cutting along the lines 13, to be folded towards the inside of the container 40 and thus to double the upper edge 20 of the container (see FIG. Figures 2 to 6 , especially the figure 2 ). The upper edge of the final container will thus be reinforced, as well as the handles 11 which will be cut into the corresponding cutting marks, so that they will be superimposed after folding of the flap 3. This will increase the robustness of the waste box during its manual transport.

Alternatively, it can be cut along the lower edge 21 of the lid, along the fold line 7 of the inner edge of the lower longitudinal flap 9. This mode is the one shown on the Figures 2 to 6 attached.

Selon un tel mode, comme autrement indiqué sur la figure 1, les marques 81 sont configurées pour que la largeur A/8 des quatre rabats de fond 10 intègre la largeur du rabat longitudinal inférieur 9.Alternatively still, according to another possible solution that may be preferred, the lower longitudinal flap 9 is reset and after cutting, each portion of said flap forms part of the bottom flaps 10. In such a mode, as otherwise indicated on the figure 1 , the marks 81 are configured so that the width A / 8 of the four bottom flaps 10 integrates the width of the lower longitudinal flap 9.

Prior to folding the upper longitudinal flap 3 and possibly the lower longitudinal flap 9, a ply-forming tool can be applied to the marks of the folding lines 81 and 82 and a cutting tool can be applied to the lines of the cutting marks. 13, in particular the air-conditioning cutting tools MM and MTR® marketed by Climaver. The same tool specially designed for this purpose can be used for both functions, for example the blade of a cutter or knife whose one edge is sharpened for cutting and the other blunt for the formation of the folds.

The upper longitudinal flap 3 is folded as on the figure 2 after application of the folding tool according to the folding marks 7 present on the inner edge 22.

After cutting along the cutting lines 13 (and obtaining the four bottom flaps 10), the cardboard sheet is then folded along the transverse folding marks 82, as illustrated by the arrows on the figure 3 .

As visible on the figure 3 and more particularly on the figure 4 the sheet of cardboard preferably has tongue-and-slot retaining means 32 provided on one of the transverse lid flaps 4 and the opposite longitudinal portion of the container. Cutting lines are thus advantageously provided in the cardboard sheet for preliminary cutting of these retaining means 30 (or alternatively perforating dots).

These retaining means are intended to facilitate the phase of introduction of adhesive tape 42 for sealing the bottom 41 by abutting the bottom flaps 10 during folding of the carton. It is thus possible to avoid having to put adhesive in the upper part of the container to maintain the junction.

Alternatively, of course, the retaining means 31, 32 may however and if necessary be reinforced by additional means allowing the maintenance and the mechanical strength of the container thus formed, such as an adhesive, an adhesive or staples.

In the end, we obtain, in accordance with Figures 5 and 6 , a container for preserving the environment, giving a second use to the packaging of the transport unit. The container can in particular be advantageously used during the laying of the insulation materials present on the pallet, as a storage container for mineral wool residues and residues from the packaging itself (cardboard, plastics, adhesives, etc.). ).
