1 SHEET OF CARDBOARD FORMING PROTECTIVE COVER The present concerns the field of packaging of bulky manufactured products, most often transported in the form of pallets or other transport units, of the type of those used in particular to protect the batteries of panels or rolls of mineral wool (glass wool or rockwool) and packaged according to well-known techniques facilitating their transport and their implantation.

Mineral wool panels or rolls are flexible and compressible and are most often arranged in compacted piles within suitable transport units. In particular, reference may be made to publication WO2006 / 077347 for an example of such packaging. As described in the aforementioned applications, the mineral wool materials are kept in compressed form during their transport to limit the cost, in particular by the use of plastic films whose elastic properties of elasticity are adapted, accompanied by strapping arranged firmly around the compacted batteries. To prevent the strapping or the film from damaging the mineral wool units or its sliding, a protective cardboard is usually provided in the form of a lid above the pallet, the dimensions of which are adapted to encompass the entire top of the transport unit. Even though it is made of a recyclable material, a carton nevertheless has an environmental cost, as well as the scrapping of the rest of the packaging products contained in the transport unit. An object of the invention is to reduce the environmental cost of such a transport unit, in particular by giving a second use to the packaging of the product and particularly to the cardboard cover described above.
