Abstract
Un implante vertebral expandible (1, 101), que comprende: al menos una superficie de cojinete que se expande lejos de un eje longitudinal central (10, 110) del implante (1, 101); un primer extremo del implante (20, 120) y un segundo extremo opuesto del implante (21, 121), en donde cada uno del primer extremo del implante (20, 120) y el segundo extremo del implante (21, 121) incluye una abertura o rebaje (280), y en donde el primer extremo del implante (20, 120) y el segundo extremo del implante (21, 121) se destinan a moverse uno hacia el otro durante la expansión del implante (1, 101); un miembro de retención (200) que comprende una estructura alargada que tiene un primer extremo del miembro de retención y un segundo extremo del miembro de retención, en donde cada uno del primer extremo del miembro de retención y del segundo extremo del miembro de retención se acopla a una abertura o rebaje respectivos (280) de un extremo del implante respectivo (20, 21), y en donde al menos uno del primer extremo del miembro de retención y del segundo extremo del miembro de retención comprende una pluralidad de nervaduras y ranuras correspondientes (220) entre las mismas; caracterizado por al menos un miembro de acoplamiento (281) proporcionado dentro de un rebaje (280) adyacente al primer extremo del implante (20, 120), en donde el miembro de acoplamiento (281) se ajusta dentro de una ranura de la pluralidad de ranuras (220) del miembro de retención (200); en donde: el rebaje (280) comprende un primer extremo del rebaje que tiene un espacio suficiente para permitir el paso del miembro de acoplamiento (281) en el mismo cuando el miembro de acoplamiento (281) se posiciona sobre una nervadura del miembro de retención (200) durante la expansión del implante (1, 101), un segundo extremo del rebaje carece de suficiente espacio para permitir el paso del miembro de acoplamiento (281) cuando el miembro de acoplamiento (281) se posiciona sobre una nervadura del miembro de retención (200); y el miembro de retención (200) retiene el implante (1, 101) en una configuración expandida al evitar la contracción del implante (1, 101) cuando se expande.
