Abstract

Un proceso para producir un catalizador Ziegler-Natta para la polimerización de olefinas, que comprende las etapas de: (a) combinar un soporte que consiste en MgCl2~xROH esférico enfriado por aspersión, en el que ROH es un alcohol o una mezcla de por lo menos dos alcoholes diferentes, siendo R una unidad de un hidrocarburo lineal, ramificado o cíclico de 1-10 átomos de carbono y en el que x está en el intervalo de 1,5 a 6,0, con un compuesto de un metal de transición en un reactor a una temperatura entre -30 y +40ºC; (b) calentar la mezcla en el reactor a una temperatura entre 30 y 100ºC; (c) simultáneamente con el calentamiento en la etapa (b), o después de alcanzar la temperatura de la etapa (b), añadir a la mezcla en el reactor un donante interno de electrones; (d) calentar la mezcla resultante a por lo menos 80ºC y mantener la mezcla a esa temperatura durante 1 a 2 horas para producir un precatalizador; (e) enfriar a temperatura ambiente (20ºC) la mezcla que contiene al precatalizador y filtrar la mezcla que contiene al precatalizador para obtener el componente precatalizador sólido; (f) extraer el precatalizador con una mezcla de un disolvente orgánico y un compuesto de un metal de transición a una temperatura de por lo menos 100ºC durante 1-5 horas para formar un catalizador; (e) enfriar a temperatura ambiente el catalizador, lavar varias veces el catalizador con un hidrocarburo como disolvente y secar el catalizador bajo vacío y/o a una temperatura elevada de 30-100ºC.
